This week's featured artist is Dallas' touch of black girl magic, K Flow. This female artist/music producer uses her lyrical sound to spread the message of love and self elevation. Her music reminds the listener to reach for their highest level of potential while staying true to themselves. Raised on the south side of Chicago, Karla K. Sudduth was most inspired by her mother. Also a singer and musician, her mother motivated her to always keep music in her life. The FLOW in her stage name stands for (Future Leader Of the World) and she embodies that acronym with every beat, lyric and concept she creates.
When independent artists make music, their drive is rooted deeper than money. We asked K Flow what keeps her creativity persistent and she replied, " I really get inspired by underground music, they keep me on my toes. It's the most honest and most creative form of art. That hunger is still there and that's motivating like a mothaf**ker". She also expressed her hope within the black community and her desire to uplift it's conditions both mentally and physically. "We have a lack of utilized power; I see so much potential within people but not everyone realizes what they're capable of. I want to create a dope soundtrack of life for my people".
K Flow's creativity is through the roof as a wearer of many crowns. She's produced and recorded over four projects including her most recent "The Balancing Act". Her sound is unique and loaded with elements of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Edm, Cloud Rap and Lounge. Not only that but she also launched her online clothing brand called Scream Big Cartel; a brand of graphic tees, hoodies, and hats with a cultural flare of powerful messages.
